A Heart Transformed: Witnessing Faith’s Ripple Effect at BAC 

A Parent’s Journey: Four years ago, a chapel talk sparked a storm. A father, hardened by life, challenged Annalise with his disbelief and bitterness. The encounter left a mark but hope lingered. Today, that very father stood on the sidelines, tears in his eyes, as his 9-year-old daughter, inspired by BAC’s faith-filled environment, took the plunge in baptism. His apology for the past and open embrace of a brighter path spoke volumes – a testament to the school’s transformative power, rippling even into the hearts of hesitant parents. 

Baptisms:  

Seeds Sown, Roots Taking Hold: From Week of Worship decisions to heartfelt conversations on school trips, the seeds of faith sown at BAC are blossoming. This year, we witnessed alumni baptisms and rejoiced with ten BAC students as they made their vows at our own campus. Four chose this special place, acknowledging the profound role it played in their spiritual journey. The joy of sharing these moments, like JP’s unexpected declaration amidst a school swim, fuels our passion to guide these young souls wherever they may be. We dream of building our own baptismal font, a permanent fixture symbolizing the commitment and growth nurtured within these walls. 

Alumni:  

Bridging the Gap, Nurturing the Flame: We believe in fostering lifelong connections. This year, alumni formed the Week of Worship Praise Band, their familiar faces and vibrant music inspiring our younger students. Annalise’s weekly alumni Bible study fosters deeper faith, even leading some towards baptism. From Red Frogs volunteers safeguarding school leavers to alumni serving at summer camps and churches, these young adults exemplify the lasting impact of BAC. Their dedication transcends age and location, a testament to the strong foundation they received. 

Intentional Faith:  

Themes that Resonate: Each year, a carefully chosen theme permeates our school, from chapel sessions to even the yearbook. Recently, a staff member struggling with personal hurdles shared how these themes, especially the resources like the “Living in the Overflow” devotional and “Choose Joy” gratitude journal, provided unexpected solace and shaped their perspective. Their words confirm the powerful ripple effect of our intentional approach to faith. 

Cultivating Prayer:  

From Quiet Rooms to Leadership Circles: During Week of Worship, we experimented with student prayer groups, a practice that resonated deeply. The request for more time echoed beyond the program, finding its way into weekly chapels and even a student-led prayer group during form class. We pray this becomes a cherished tradition, sweetening the school’s atmosphere with the scent of faith. 

Beyond Bricks and Mortar:  

Enrolments Rooted in Faith: At least two families this year chose BAC specifically for its chaplaincy ministry, a resounding affirmation of our efforts. These stories fuel our passion to nurture not just minds, but souls. 

Bundaberg’s Beacon:  

Serving, Smiling, Shining: Thirty-two excited BAC graduates descended upon Bundaberg during schoolies week, their mission: service. From car washes to backyard blitzes, and joyful carols ringing through the air, they served with respect, enthusiasm, and contagious smiles. The local community marveled at their spirit, proving that faith is not bound by age or distance. As the joy of service and the bonds of teamwork deepen, we know these connections will blossom long after the last carol fades.

Here, hearts are transformed, seeds of faith take root, and the ripple effect of prayer and service extends far beyond the school gates. In witnessing these journeys, we find joy, purpose, and the unwavering conviction that at BAC, faith truly changes lives.
